It's a major processing thenique for converting thermoplastics or thermoset plastics into variety of products for different end uses such as space shuttle to automitive, electronics to medical, sports to recreation, building and construction to machine, consumer products to medical apparatus an dinstruments. Injection molding process involves feeding pallet material, melting this pallet material from solid to molten plastic material, and forcing this material through a barrel by a screw, coveying this molten material from the barrel through sprue, runners, and gates into cavities of mold, and then cooling and forming this melt inside the mold which may also have such features as cores, inserts and cavities.
PP is a thermoplastic polymer used in a variety of applications. PP is normally tough and flexibile, especially when copolymerized with ethylene. This allows PP to be used as an engineering plastic, competing wither materials such as ABS. PP is reasonably economical, and can be made translucent when unclolored but is not as readily made transparent as PS, PMMA, or certain other plastics. It's often opaque or colored using pigments. PP has good resistance to fatigue. PP with higher MFR (Melt Flow Rate) or MFI (Melt Flow Index) will fill the plastic mold more easily during the injection production process. As the melt flow increases, however, some physical properties, like impact strength, will decrease. PP is liable to chain degradation from exposure to heat and UV radiation such as that present in sunlight. PP Plastic Component For external applications, UV-absorbing additives must be used. Carbon black also provides some protection from UV attack. The polymer can also be oxidized at high temperatures which is a common problem during molding operations. Anti-oxidants are normally added to prevent polymer degradation.
